"D5"

Quilt Pattern

The Diabolical Double Disappearing Diagonal Daydream (“D5” for short), is a variation on the classic double disappearing 9-patch quilt design. It is a great opportunity to spend some quality time with your favorite color (in my case, brown)!

As with other “disappearing” quilt designs, it gives the impression of being a complicated quilt with lots of little pieces, but is actually a relatively quick and simple project. Designed to be beginner-friendly, precision is entirely unimportant, and the deliberately scrambley aesthetic distracts from basically any mistake you could make.

This pattern is designed for rotary cutting and machine piecing.

It includes directions for four different finished sizes:

Throw: 63” x 63”

Twin: 63” x 84”

Full: 74” x 84”

Queen: 84” x 95”

(Please Note: if you'd like your quilt to have a longer drop, consider selecting one bed-size up, or contact us for tips on picking the best size for your bed.)
